Equine Acupuncture Course

Brooke Marsh - Sunday, November 13, 2011

I have just completed another fantastic week of learning. Over the last year I have been working through my Advanced Diploma of equine acupuncture.  I love combining eastern and western techniques into my treatments.

Eastern Medicine is so extremely complicated it seems the more you know the more you know you don't know! I know I won't ever stop learning.

Thanks to Tom for being such a fantastic teacher and allowing me to start the day with Qi Gong to set up for great days of learning and treating the horses. I look forward to more next year.

It has been such an action packed exciting year for me professionally. To be full time Animal Physiotherapist certainly makes me satisfied to be finishing the year with more knowledge to help me be more effective at treating all those beautiful animals

Cheers

More of the Horse course - acupuncture

Brooke Marsh - Tuesday, July 26, 2011
I had another fabulous week continuing my Advanced Diploma of Equine acupuncture.  I love learning more and more about traditional chinese medicine.  It is certainly a privilege working with these large beasts and such a great way to spend the week.  We start the day with Tom leading some Tai Chi and Qi Gong.  It is amazing how any animal picks up the energy of who is treating them so this is very important to incorporate into our training.  This lovely old horse was a rescue animal who had been ridden for years barrel racing.  Probably the worst neck I have felt in a horse.  She certainly relaxed nicely with treatment and lapped up all the treatment from us all.
Thanks to Tom for another great week of jam packed learning.  I look forward to the next instalment of brain food.

The more you know the more you know you don't know..... you know!!

Dallas the horse

Brooke Marsh - Sunday, May 22, 2011

I have had the joy of treating Dallas the beautiful 28 yo horse.  She has suffered from laminitis for many years.  We are hoping to improve her comfort and quality of life at present as she is struggling to walk comfortably.  Dallas has responded extremely well to acupuncture and Physiotherapy and I thank Karen for all her efforts every day which is paying off.  She is moving more easily and definitely brighter in herself.  I hope she continues to improve over the next few weeks as we facilitate the healing process for her.
