Equine Acupuncture Clinic

Brooke Marsh - Sunday, April 22, 2012
I had another fantastic week working to complete my Advanced Diploma of Equine Acupuncture.  This is the 2nd last clinic to consolidate all the information I have learnt over the last year.  We had some fantastic responses to treatment and I really enjoyed getting my brain working again.  Chinese medicine is such a great compliment to Western medicine.
The more I learn the more I know there is to learn.

These large beasts are so responsive to treatment and I enjoyed my week immensely.
Thanks Tom for taking us patiently through all the twists and turns of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Rainy days

Brooke Marsh - Monday, March 26, 2012

Gotta love a sleepy physio session in a bali hut. What a lovely sight to see the relaxing session for Snoopy and her mum.  After some underwater treadmill (no umbrella or gumboots required) and acupuncture and physio both enjoyed some time to revitalise.

I think we should rename the sunny coast! The underwater treadmill has been a blessing for many owners who have not been able to get their loved ones out for a good ol fashioned stroll in the park. Blue is so Blue today! Thanks huey for giving us some respite!

Read my new article about Acupuncture

Brooke Marsh - Tuesday, March 20, 2012

I have just attached a new article I did for the NCVS (North Coast Veterinary Specialists) newsletter on the Acupuncture page on this website.  It gives a background for understanding the east and west approach to Acupuncture.

I hope it helps you understand a little more how this 5000 year old method of treatment works.

Alfie fools us - now not needle phobic!

Brooke Marsh - Sunday, December 11, 2011

So I was told this beautiful dog was afraid of needles.  He has been suffering from back pain with possible disc degeneration.  Alfie's vets and dedicated owner have decided to manage his condition conservatively.  Not only does he tolerate his electroacupuncture sessions but he changes personality into 'zen' mode.  Combined with physiotherapy, massage, underwater treadmill and exercises at home to improve his spine stability and strength, Alfie is improving nicely.  I hope he continues to progress so he can get back to his old self.  Well done Alfie for being so brave!

Rancho relaxo for Gucci

Brooke Marsh - Sunday, November 20, 2011

Well summer is almost here. Rosy and Gucci had a lovely relaxing acupuncture session this week after her workout in the underwater treadmill.  Gucci with her chronic arthritis in her spine and hips is enjoying the warmer weather and getting to the water more often.  If you wonder if acupuncture is well tolerated (she is also having electroacupuncture here)... have a look at his picture!  Thanks for my kisses again this week Gucci!

cheers

Equine Acupuncture Course

Brooke Marsh - Sunday, November 13, 2011

I have just completed another fantastic week of learning. Over the last year I have been working through my Advanced Diploma of equine acupuncture.  I love combining eastern and western techniques into my treatments.

Eastern Medicine is so extremely complicated it seems the more you know the more you know you don't know! I know I won't ever stop learning.

Thanks to Tom for being such a fantastic teacher and allowing me to start the day with Qi Gong to set up for great days of learning and treating the horses. I look forward to more next year.

It has been such an action packed exciting year for me professionally. To be full time Animal Physiotherapist certainly makes me satisfied to be finishing the year with more knowledge to help me be more effective at treating all those beautiful animals

Cheers
