Equine Acupuncture Clinic

Brooke Marsh - Sunday, April 22, 2012
I had another fantastic week working to complete my Advanced Diploma of Equine Acupuncture.  This is the 2nd last clinic to consolidate all the information I have learnt over the last year.  We had some fantastic responses to treatment and I really enjoyed getting my brain working again.  Chinese medicine is such a great compliment to Western medicine.
The more I learn the more I know there is to learn.

These large beasts are so responsive to treatment and I enjoyed my week immensely.
Thanks Tom for taking us patiently through all the twists and turns of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Equine Acupuncture Course

Brooke Marsh - Sunday, November 13, 2011

I have just completed another fantastic week of learning. Over the last year I have been working through my Advanced Diploma of equine acupuncture.  I love combining eastern and western techniques into my treatments.

Eastern Medicine is so extremely complicated it seems the more you know the more you know you don't know! I know I won't ever stop learning.

Thanks to Tom for being such a fantastic teacher and allowing me to start the day with Qi Gong to set up for great days of learning and treating the horses. I look forward to more next year.

It has been such an action packed exciting year for me professionally. To be full time Animal Physiotherapist certainly makes me satisfied to be finishing the year with more knowledge to help me be more effective at treating all those beautiful animals

Cheers

Dallas the horse

Brooke Marsh - Sunday, May 22, 2011

I have had the joy of treating Dallas the beautiful 28 yo horse.  She has suffered from laminitis for many years.  We are hoping to improve her comfort and quality of life at present as she is struggling to walk comfortably.  Dallas has responded extremely well to acupuncture and Physiotherapy and I thank Karen for all her efforts every day which is paying off.  She is moving more easily and definitely brighter in herself.  I hope she continues to improve over the next few weeks as we facilitate the healing process for her.

Online Consultation

Brooke Marsh - Sunday, May 22, 2011

I have decided to set up Online Consultation via my website.  It is clear to me there are many animals out there who are unable to access Physiotherapy services. I hope I can provide some advice online and be able to help these animals' quality of life.  If you have a quick question feel free to fill out the form to find out more.....

Equine Acupuncture 'Horse Course'

Brooke Marsh - Wednesday, April 06, 2011
I have embarked on a very exciting journey this year.  The timing is great and I have decided to do my Advanced Diploma of Equine Acupuncture.  So I have been surrounding myself with this large beast this week for a full prac week and will plod my way through overwhelming amounts of information to add to my bag of tricks
I really have missed this incredible beast and look forward to continuing to find a balance with the East and the West with my animal Treatments.  Fortunately the Horse and Dog are very similar (and human for that matter) so this will cross over to all species.
This was my horse I worked on today (The 'relaxed' was painted on by a boy who was there for equine assisted learning - a behaviour he aspired to having..... hmmm well i think this was working on both of us or vice versa....!)

I look forward to more of this!
Cheers

Good work Pony!

Brooke Marsh - Thursday, November 04, 2010
I did a final review of one of the Ponies at Australia Zoo.  We have been treating him this year for a shoulder injury.  He was extremely lame when I first saw him in March and his prognosis was uncertain.  The trainers have been working so hard to follow my Physiotherapy program to the 'T'.  I was so happy to see he is now back in the paddock, doing as ponies do and looking really strong.  His lameness has markedly improved.  Hopefully he will wean back into having some keen children on his back over the next few months and enjoy being out and about again.  Thanks to the team at Australia Zoo for all their hard work!
Cheers
