I am very happy to introduce Stephanie Valentin to join me at Holistic Animal Physiotherapy. She is a qualified Human and Animal Physiotherapist and completed her masters in London. She is a very experienced Equine Physiotherapist and is happy to cover more equine cases in Brisbane, Gold and Sunshine Coast. I am fortunate to have Stephanie to help me cover the Physiotherapy services offered to the small animal specialist center at BVSC each week. Thanks Steph for coming on board - a pleasure to have you! If anyone has any enquiries for small or large animal Physiotherapy feel free to contact and Stephanie will be happy to help you.

This week I treated 2 of the first dogs I have seen having recently undergone the new Adicell/Stem cell therapy for arthritis. This is now being performed in Brisbane. I will be interested to see how they progress over the next few months and very greatful to be involved in their therapy to reduce pain, improve circulation, muscle stabiltiy and most importantly guide their owners in a very specific home program to improve their mobility and strength as the treatment takes effect. I will keep you updated of their progress.

Thanks to BVSC (Brisbane Veterinary Specialist Center) for inviting me to speak at their quarterly seminar for referring Vets. I was happy to discuss the new profession of Animal Physiotherapy to these vets and meet them face to face finally. It is fantastic to be involved with such a professional team and offer this service to the clients in north Brisbane.

I am often asked how you can keep a dog still during acupuncture.
Does this answer your question?
My lovely Gucci and Rosy - pretty hard physio session that day!

I have had a fantastic weekend attending an inspiring course by Dr Bruce Ferguson: Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. This is a fantastic opening for me to expand my skills in holistic medicine. I look forward to enhancing my knowledge in this area throughout the year improving the quality of life of my clients.

I am finally stopping my commute from Brisbane and moving back up to the Sunny coast. This is a great move for me and I am very happy to have my finger on the pulse and be more accessible to my clients up there. For those 2 legged folk (owners who have more difficulty getting off the floor than their well loved animals) I will be able to provide physio from Aroona if you are also in need of some care.....
Thanks for all the encouragement from those who have talked some sense into me finally!
Cheers

At this time of year many cute puppies are bought for Christmas. What a fantastically exciting present. However, sometiimes the receiver is not aware or prepared for the commitment that this gift will entail.
The RSPCA has online gift donations to become a guardian angel of a dog or cat.
A great way to give for Christmas to help out those that lost their new home
Have a look at:

It would be nice if all puppies received the same love and care that our lucky pooches do!
Have a happy and safe silly season and thanks to all those gorgeous dogs who have come into my life this year. I have had a ball. I am very lucky to finish a huge year exhausted but happy and satisfied.

As part of our Seminar Series with NCVS we presented to the Vets and vet nurses on Sunday at Hervey. This was one of 3 seminars at Mooloolaba, Hervey Bay and Mackay next year. Another fantastic location and a great group of professionals. A fantastic learning opportunity for all and chance to network. I presented to the Vet nurses about Animal Physiotherapy and the Vets about Hip Dysplasia and Physiotherapy. Once again, I was proud to be part of such a fantastic team of specialists and conultants with NCVS.
